It seems that almost anything is possible today. But the reason that we don’t continue is that it is hard to get the results that we want.
It happens all of the time. Many people want to have their own business, but they aren’t willing to face the reality that there is a 50% chance that they will fail in 5 years. Sometimes people feel stuck in the job they have, but it will be hard work to find another one with the same perks they currently have.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying where you are. It doesn’t even hurt if you see that there are options out there, but you don’t want to move towards them. Choosing to be where you are is a valid choice.
But no matter what your path is, two things matter:
- Choose your path intentionally. Even if you choose to ‘see where life takes me,’ make sure this is an intentional choice. Where you end up is a result of the path that you are on, so consciously choose where you will end up.
- Recognize that if your work matters, it will be hard work. If you decide to stay where you are because it is safer, there will be days when you wish that you had taken the leap. If you leap into something new, there are days when you wish that you had stayed.
Anything is possible. No matter what path you choose, there is hard work involved. Don’t avoid the hard work; focus on the goal at the end of the road you are on.
