It Can’t All Be Creative Commons Zero

In a previous blog post on December 12, 2018, I said that anything included in this blog or website is licenced under the Creative Commons Zero license. This statement about licensing is no longer true.

The content on this site is licensed under the license that is listed on each specific piece of content.

Why The Change Of Heart?

I haven’t had a change of heart. I still am willing to share my content with whoever wants it. I probably don’t have any concern with you using the material in whatever way you want to.

As I have gotten further into my content producing journey I have realized that there are too many connections to other people’s content to make a blanket statement that everything is under the CC0 licence. There are too many other pieces that may not be covered under the same license.

In short, it is a learning part of the journey. Saying that everything is covered under CC0 sounds like a good idea, but it might not honour the other people who have contributed to this site. I want to make sure that there is no confusion about the rights to the content.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Everything under this site is licensed under its specific license. If you aren’t sure if you can use something, ask. If I can let you use it, I’m happy to. If it belongs to someone else, I’ll direct you to that person. I’ll also try to include license information on each piece of content that I can add the CC0 License to.
