The Immediately Urgent

There are times when a task becomes immediately urgent. For example, if you sleep in until 20 minutes before your blog post is supposed to go live.

When something is immediately urgent, everything else fades away. You have a complete focus on the task at hand. When distractions come, you are able to avoid or ignore them easily.

If you build some intentionally immediate urgency into your tasks, it is a great way to be laser-focused on your goal. It won’t work for every piece of work: your whole life can’t be a panic to get work done. But it is one tool that can help you get the work done.

And for me: It’s still only 6:25.
