You probably feel alone if:
- You work for a non-profit,
- You are a project leader,
- You are a leader in any way,
- You want to make an impact in the world.
You feel alone because you are not sure if anyone is listening to you. Its the nature of the insatiable desire to make a more significant change tomorrow than you did today. There is no-one else in the world who has the same passion and focus that you have. Your uniqueness is simply because no-one else in the world has had the same experiences and history that you have.
But You aren’t alone – every leader feels lonely in this way. Recognize that feeling lonely as a leader is a common ground that we have. If leaders are only part of the average, then they are not a step ahead. And being a step ahead means that you are intentionally choosing to be lonely.
We’re in this together. You might be lonely because you are leading and not part of the larger group who is following. But you’re not alone – every leader feels the same way.
